About Onesimus House orphanage in Timisoara, Romania
Imagine children forced to seek shelter in the sewers beneath a Romanian street market, clutching what little they owned just to survive the bitter cold following the fall of communism under Nicolae Ceaușescu's brutal dictatorship.
In 1992, the late Pastor Peter Dugulescu set out to change that heartbreaking reality, starting by rescuing seven children directly from those underground streets. Today, his legacy continues under the leadership of his daughter, Ligia Dugulescu, President of Jesus Hope of Romania.
Unlike many traditional institutions, this home is one of the rare places that keeps brothers and sisters together, preserving vital family bonds. What began in the dark is now a Christ-centered sanctuary filled with love, music, and hope—a place where children can grow up safe, cherished, and together.
